Welcome to U3A Online Inc.

U3A Online is the world's-first virtual University of the Third Age delivering online learning via the Internet.

All that's needed to study online is access to a computer, tablet or other device with an Internet connection - and some basic computing skills.

U3A Online is an individual, independent and autonomous University of the Third Age. U3A Online offers many other useful resources for older people, especially those who are geographically, physically or socially isolated.

Courses

Our courses are open to all older people and disabled younger people anywhere in the world. They are especially suited to older members of the community who are isolated either geographically, or through physical or social circumstances (including carers).

We offer a wide variety of subjects which can be studied at any level of interest. We aim to provide something for everyone, so our courses may vary in length and depth.

The courses are informal, there are no exams or assignments and no certificates issued. Each course is offered as Independent Study. A number of courses also have a Leader, at dates listed on the ‘with Leader’ Courses in the Course list.

Resources

The U3A Online website provides up-to-date contacts for all U3As that provide their information, as well as facilities for their members to exchange ideas, resources and information about U3A events. The wide range of helpful information, including news items, research reports and links to many interesting websites, will also prove useful to other groups of older people.

Become a U3A Online member

U3A Online is especially suited to those who are geographically isolated or who are prevented from joining a local U3A through physical or social circumstances or who prefer to study independently. You can view the available courses here

What is the membership subscription rate?

Membership is $35 per annum. Once you are a member you will be able to register online for the various courses we have on offer. The membership year runs from whenever you join.

If you are already a Member and would like to renew please click the Renew Membership button below. You will be asked to enter your email address registered with U3A Online and will then be sent an invoice for your membership renewal.

Have you registered for your Member Portal?

The Member Portal is a one stop shop for you to access your U3A Online resources, update your contact details, see and settle any outstanding invoices and enrol in courses.

There are two ways to register for the Member Portal - with your registered email or with your member number. If you share your email address with another U3A Online member then you must use your member number to register. Please contact U3A Online if you do not know your member number.

Once you have entered your email address/member number you will be emailed a security code which must be entered to verify your account. This will only be required once unless you need to reset your password - in which case you will be required to re-register.

You should then select a secure password for your login and you will then be taken into the Member Portal area.

If you have any problems or issues please use the HELP button in the top right corner of the Member Portal page for an email address for assistance.

U3A Online is provided for members in a variety of situations. Perhaps you do not have access to a conveniently located local U3A branch or you prefer to study independently? Perhaps your Local U3A does not have the classes available that you can find here in U3A Online?

Whatever the reason you are welcome to join U3A Online as a member and then choose any of the interesting, educational and thought provoking courses available as a U3A Online member rather than as a member of a local U3A branch.

How to Enrol in a Course

You can view the classes being offered by U3A Online below. Click on a class and you will find an Enrol button. Click on the Enrol button for each course you are interested in joining. Once you've selected all courses you will be asked if you are are a member of U3A Online.

If you are already a U3A Online member

The system will require you to enter your email address as you have registered with U3A Online. You will receive an email confirming your enrolment and you will be able to gain access to your course material through your Member Portal.

If you are already a member you can register and access your Member Portal here - Member Portal. You can enrol in courses both on this page and through your Member Portal.

If you are not yet a member of U3A Online

If you are not yet a member of U3A Online, once you have selected all your courses you will be taken to the New Member page to fill out our membership application.

Once you have submitted your payment and your membership application you can then log in to your Member Portal here - Member Portal
